Quindata as part of Blacksmiths and powered by Cronos is currently expanding its operations in Belgium. Our main activity is focused on providing data engineering solutions across verticals. Our clients span from financial institutions to banks and insurance companies. We will continue to expand our portfolio entering Telecom, Utilities, and Manufacturing verticals. We are currently looking for Data Engineers. To succeed in this data engineering position, you should have strong analytical skills and the ability to combine data from different sources. Data engineer skills include familiarity with several programming languages and knowledge of machine learning & artificial intelligence disciplines. We give you the flexibility of working as an employee and remotely within the Benelux. If you are business savvy, detail-oriented, with excellent organizational skills and experience in this field, we’d like to hear from you

 

Skills

We are looking for Data Engineers with passion to learn and solve new challenges with the following skills:

You have used Apache Spark and Hadoop to process and store massive amounts of data

You have experience defining, building and debugging pipelines

You are familiar with IaC, CI/CD and feel comfortable discussing data-architecture and data infrastructure topics with technical teams

Your programming skills might include the following languages: Scala, TypeScript, Python, and scripting languages.

You can support on-prem or cloud-native deployments of machine learning models. Certifications will be highly appreciated (AWS, GCS, Azure, etc.).

You are familiar with agile development methodologies and tools to deliver according to expectations (e.g. Atlassian suits like Jira, Confluence, and Trello). 

You are familiar with collaborative code development and version control approaches and tools like Git. 

You understand and are familiar with best practices on unit testing, documentation, security and performance, dev/acc/prod environments, and Linux management as a minimum.

You have been involved in data-centric projects in different verticals (more than one will be ideal)

You have good communication skills and are comfortable explaining technical matters to a wider audience and acting as a data consultant

You speak English and Dutch, French highly appreciated.

 

(Experienced resources who have not got the necessary project experience typically take on a shorter role on a project at a more junior level to be ready to move into a more senior role afterwards)
